I'm back

Since my little boy's birth back in August '11, I've nearly disappeared from the photography world. Being a parent is tougher than one can think, you don't realise it until you are actually experiencing it, but what a joy!

As mentioned in my previous post, I've, in the meantime, move to Australia, taking my little family to the sunshine and closer to the family (New Caledonia). A bit before the move I've restarted shooting again with Andy & Jane's family and then in Sydney with Tahnee a model from ModelMayhem and for Golfers in IT.

Hopefully, I will be posting more shots and blog about my Aussie's experience.

Andy & Jane's family shots:

This is the 3rd time I've shot for Andy and Jane. It all started with their daughter Kimberly when she was only for months. This time the family has grown up again with the arrival of Lewis. The photoshoot was held at their house and we used what ever is available as background to keep it natural. For the lighting I was using up to two flashguns (Nikon SB-900 and SB-600) with a mix of window's light.

Tahnee Cirjanic:

Tahnee responded to a casting call I posted on Model Mayhem as she was living in the same suburb as me (Casula) that made it easier for us to organise and we went to the Casula Powerhouse, a very popular photoshoot location. On the day, my SB-600 died so I ended up using a single SB-900.

Golfers in IT, Australia:

Thank you Graeme Smith from Network 20 for introducing me to my new IT contract job in Sydney and for booking me for "Golfers in IT" a social event he organised for IT people. The event was taking place at the New South Wales Golf Club in La Perouse. I took the opportunity to test my new toy, the Phottix Odin radio triggers for Nikon flashguns. They've never failed! Amazing kit, highly recommended to all off-camera flash photographers out there, their price is quite good, I got a set of one trigger and one receiver for Nikon Speedlight for AUD 399 at the Peter's Camera House in Brisbane. As I needed to move around through the wide golf course, I just used one single SB-900 on a stand.

For most of the shots for all these sessions, my main lens was a Nikon 85mm f/1.4, what a beautiful gear, really!
